Selected winners will perform with the Fox Valley Brass Band as a featured soloist on an upcoming performance of the 2024-2025 concert season.

New in our 2023-2024 season!

A competition for young aspiring brass musicians to display your skills, receive recognition, and win support to further your musical studies.

This event is open to high school performers playing traditional
brass instruments of the brass band world.

The competition via video submissions will be held and winners will be featured on an upcoming performance with the Fox Valley Brass Band!

Up to 3 prizes will be awarded:

1st Place: $500

2nd Place: $300

3rd Place: $200

Noted Requirements:

· Applicant must be of high school age on the date of video submission (March 17, 2024).

· Competition is open to the following: trumpet, cornet, flugel horn, tenor horn, baritone, euphonium, trombone, tuba.

· The winner(s) of the competition will perform with the Fox Valley Brass Band on an agreed upon concert either in Summer of 2024, or in the 2024-2025 concert season.

· The winner(s) must be available to participate in two rehearsals with the band for the applicable performance. Rehearsals are typically Sunday afternoons from 3:00 -5:30pm.

· The audition video should consist of self-selected solos/etudes which best display the applicant’s lyrical and technical skills. Audition materials will not necessarily be what is performed with the band on the concert.

· The winner(s) will work with the FVBB Music Director to select their solo performance repertoire that will be featured with the band.
